New Music in New Orleans

Where:    Blue Nile, 532 Frenchmen St., New Orleans

Come hear live contemporary music in a laid-back nightlife atmosphere. Performances by Joe L. Alexander, tuba; David Cortello, guitar; Lindsey Hartman, flute; Nick Hwang, laptop; Lindsey Jacob, saxophone; J. Corey Knoll, laptop; and Susannah Montandon, cello.

Featuring pieces by Joe L. Alexander, David Cortello, Lindsey Jacob, J. Corey Knoll, Jeff Lipscomb, and Liduino Pitombeira.

The concert features works by members of the National Association of Composers/USA Mid-South Chapter. The concert is a part of the Open Ears Music Series. There is no cover charge.

Fleur de Brass + Bodesuite Part 1

Fleur de Brass, New Orleans’ independent brass quintet, will open for the Bodesuite Part 1, a funk ballet by David Bode at the Big Top (1638 Clio St.). The show is on June 27th at 9PM. Cover is $5.

Fleur de Brass is:

Kim Hester- trumpet

Jack Pritchett- horn

Daniel Ray- trombone

Madeline Finn- bass trombone

bodeBodesuite Part 1 will be played by:

David Bode- alto sax
